free concert at hartwood acres july 6th

if you went on the link (posted on this forum a few days ago) of the allegheny county you maybe noticed that there are a lot of free concerts in Pittsburgh
on July 6th ( a sunday) there is a free concert of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in Hartwood acres (Hampton /close to the route 8/and close to Fox Chapel)
the concert is in the park at 7.30 pm
the fun with this sort of concerts is that we take our seats and picnic before the concert......
hartwood acres is a very beautiful place with a lot of space (no parking problems)

i propose that we could go and meet there for a picnic ( for ex around 6 or 6.30) and the concert afterwards...
it would be of course in family ( if the other members of yr family enjoy classic music)...and with no limitation of nr of people....

would somebody be interested...i would love to go with my husband and some friends for such an evening(my kids don't appreciate classic music....)

ladies...like we said(Ann and me) in another rubrique of this forum let's try to meet eachothers in hartwood acres!!!!!
it is the symphony orchestra of Pittsburgh!!! and it is free !!!!

we propose to meet eachother at 6 .15 at the park of Hartwood acres..(hereunder description of the way)..if you are afraid not to find it you could come to my house and follow us it is only 10 min away from the park(send me an email for my house address)

take something to drink and to eat together (something easy)

and important take seats and blankets to install you comfortably on the grass....

let's say that we meet eachothers at 6.15 at the cafeteria at the right of the stage(right when you look the stage)

it would be kind if the ones coming gave us a little sign(like email or phone call) to tell us that they are coming.....so we can know how many people are coming

once again come...it is really a nice opportunity to seea beautiful concert.....and cross your fingers for the weather!!!!

Directions to Hartwood Acres:

From PA Turnpike exit 39. Take Rt 8 south 1.5 miles to Wildwood Rd (Yellow Belt). Turn left at the light and go 1.1 miles to the stop sign on Middle Rd. Turn right and go 2.2 miles to the parking lot on the left just past Central Elementary School.

From downtown Pittsburgh. Take Rt 28 north to exit 5B on the left, Rt 8 toward Butler. Go 1.4 miles and take a right on Saxonburg Blvd. Go only about 50 yards and take a left onto Middle Rd. Follow Middle Rd about 5.2 miles to the parking lot on the right, just past the "Performance entrance" to Hartwood and just before the Central Elementary School.

Note: Do not follow signs to the Mansion at Hartwood acres; that will lead you to the wrong side of the park. If you do wind up at the mansion, you will need to take Saxonburg Rd and Harts Run Rd over to Middle Rd, as shown in the locator map.

we went there...to learn it was cancelled.(because of the weather of the afternoon i suppose)...what a pity
but we went to my house afterwards with the ones who were there.....ruud and regina . steve (an american friend) and lina , olivier and alexandre.....
we had the picnic together....without the music and had a lot of fun

we hope to have another opportunity to listen music together!!!!
