Mini cooking-class idea Empty Mini cooking-class idea

I remember that my mom used to make dumplings with friends and sisters. It is not difficult but long… so it is better to get together to make dumplings and talk. Then they share the dumplings ready to freeze/to cook. Very convenient, it is ready in 10-15 min in boiling water.

Actually, I don’t know how to make them so I buy the frozen ones. Expensive and sometime I buy the wrong ones…

If some dumpling experts can hear me respect , I would like to learn! If you don’t have enough room in your house, I can receive up to 10 people in my house. We can share the cost of the ingredients and everyone ends up with dumplings to bring home.
It could be fun!

I am not a dumpling expert but I make dumping stuffing in Pittsburgh and buy wraps in Lotus. I follow a cook book for oversea cooking that I can find ingredients easily in Pittsburgh. The major ingredients of stuffing are spanich and ground pork. Sometimes I add shrimps because I love seafood.

I also brought my high school cook book that includes the wrap and stuffing making. But it needs making and rolling dough, chopping, and of course, much more time.

I don't know which one is Lina looking for?

I am glad to share the recipe in Lina's place (my place is really really small). If it is in May, I am free on 16th and 20th (Sorry! My farther-in-law arrives on 22th.) If it is in June, the third and fourth weekdays seem good and my mom can join too.

What do you think?

Wahoo, 2 experts instead of one !! Yes

Let's make dumpling in June. cool2 Yi-Rung, do you mean 3 rd and 4th week of June or June 3rd and 4th ? I'm quite open, just have to check with Nelly, she postpone the card making workshop, it might be in June...

How long does it take ? Should we start in the morning and have dumplings for lunch, or start in the afternoon and share the dumplings to bring home ?

Thank you

Sorry for my poor explaination. Embarassed

I will not be in Pittsburgh from May 30 to June 13. If the schedule in May is too tight, we can set in June but have to wait utill the third week.

Will it be fine? Or other people from Asain can share their recipe then can enjoy the dumplings earlier?

I am thinking about a quicker way to make the dumpling wrap with Lina's pasta machine. If we put the dough in the machine to make it flat, then we don't need to roll it. Then use a circle ring (like cookie mode?) to cut it. I think we can start in the morning and eat for lunch.

Please share you ideas to set the date down. I will be in cooking class and this Thur. meeting.

See you~

I made a great investment buying a pasta machine ! We will make dumpling dough ! cheers

Yi-Rung, if you think that it is OK to use the pasta machine. Let's do it! Can we cut with a glass or a bowl ? I'm wondering if it is sharpened enough... Question How about Monday, June 16 ? Will you be able to buy ingredients before ? Jet lag ???
If you can't make it, the 17,18 or 19 are fine too.

What time should we start ?
