cooking is an art too.....why not to learn to make chocolate mousse???
Hi
I propose a little cooking class....no concurrence with Nelly and the official cooking class of the IWAp
but there are things you can't prepare at these classes because of the time it need to be in the fridge for example...
I'm from Belgium...and you know we love chocolate (the real/good one of course)
I propose to learn to some of you how to prepare chocolate mousse...it could be at my house..I live in Fox Chapel...(I could pick up certain of you...we have to organize it)..
I could take between 5 and 8 people for the activity
I would buy all the ingredients and would just ask the price of them ( divided by the number of participants...so cheap because we just need chocolate, sugar and eggs)
I would propose to do it for example on March 4th ( sorry before i'm very busy) in the morning...
the ones who would be interested send me a message on my mp address...please don't be shy...it is an opportunity to meet eachother outside of the church....
hope to see reactions.....to see if this forum is really working!!!!!(by the way thanks again to Lina for all her work on this and the same to Aurelie and Kazu)

hi Radka
great that you are able to come!!!
for a personal answer you should go on "memberlist" and you click on MP (personal address) and the email will come to me....i had already another reaction on this way...it works!!!
by the way I wanted to say that I proposed march 4th but i'm not sure that there is no other activity of the iwap on the same day (field trip maybe)....if we can't do it on the 4th ,I would do it on the 5th....(wednesday).....no problem!!:-)
i'll confirm everything as soon as we know more abt the march programm of the iwap..
and a few days before the day we'll choose i'll send to all the participants my coordinates by email and we'll organize the transportaion upto fox chapel...
see you soon

Chocolate mousse??? Oh, boy~~~ I'm just obsessed with it~~~!!!
You know, you can't have such a nice cooking class unless you are specializing in baker. What a good chance!
Please count me in, Catherine!!!.... if there is a still available spot for me~~!!!
Thank you!!

for all the people who signed up.....
i sent to everybody the route description and my coordinates...
if somebody didn't receive them send me a message!!!( see mp on my profile)
i forgot to say that everybody has to take a recipient to bring the mousse back home....a tupperware or something equivalent would be perfect!!!

the recipe
I had a lot of fun today at my house...we were ten....and i believe that everybody really enjoyed it
we should do it again...with something else to cook or bake...
hereunder the recipe for the mousse
Just like promised here the proportions of the mousse
+/- 60 gr chocolate (I used 1/2 dark and 1/2 milk chocolate but you can try just dark or bitter or even just milk chocolate…)
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of sugar (powder sugar)
Let melt the chocolate in a “bain marie”
Separate the yolks and the white of the eggs
Mix all the yolks(yellow of the eggs) with the sugar
And beat the whites of eggs stiff
When the chocolate is melted ,mix it with the yolks/sugar
And after just spoon by spoon –very carefully - add the stiff eggs to the chocolate …don’t “break” them….
The patience is the secret of the good mousse!!
When finished put in the fridge
It is better to prepare the mousse a few hours/or the day before
en enjoy it!!!
