Want to meet people?

Hi!

A lot of you have different interests, some want to learn French, some want to knit, others want to walk in the park, meet other mums with babies etc....

Well there's a nice website called: Meetup.com, where you can see what is happening in your neighborhood.
This is how I met very nice people who were looking for French expat in Pittsburgh, or people who wanted to play games, or mums who needed homeschooling, or babysitters, or they also organize bike tours, sports event...etc.

Different groups organize different activities. You can always meet or speak to people in private too.
In Pittsburgh there's a lot of meetup going on! Especially for foreign language! Most of them meet in shadyside or elsewhere in a Café.

Its a very nice way to join a regular activity group near your home.

An other tip is to look up in the free CP paper (city paper!) there's a lot of outgoing events with nice groups of people. Don't be shy! And try to join them, most of them are foreigners like you! You can also find volunteer offers. In the US you can volunteer anywhere! Hospitals, Museum, Zoo...Etc. You don't need any special background, only motivation, even to play with kids in the hospital!
